To prepare our teachers to meet the new curriculum expectations around this rich moment in Australia’s history, the ACT History Teachers Association is holding a once-off special PD event in collaboration with colleagues from National Archives of Australia (NAA) and the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD).
This professional development will begin with a presentation and discussion from two history teachers in the ACT who have taught units on this period, who will share their unit and lesson plans with teachers connecting.
We will then be joined by a stellar panel to discuss this period of history, including some of the core players from the movement.
The panel will include:
- Elizabeth Reid AO – the world’s first ever Women’s Adviser, within the Whitlam Government.
- Biff Ward- Women’s Liberation activist, author.
- Producers from the film ‘Brazen Hussies’, a nation-leading documentary on this period.
- Angela Burroughs- AEU ACT President, to discuss the role of unions through this period.
To join us in person, please register through Eventbrite booking: Brazen Hussies & V9 Australian Curriculum Tickets, Thu 26/10/2023 at 3:30 pm
